The Oakland Raiders are down a QB due to Jason Campbell breaking his collarbone on Sunday. Bad news for Oakland who at this point of the season have a 4-2 record. Oakland management, with the encouragement of head coach Hue Jackson, offered the Bengals a 2012 First-Round pick along with a 2013 Second-Round pick. This seems like a big price to pay for the veteran QB who refused to play another game for the Bengals rather than fulfill his contract throughout the 2014 season. However there is some upside, other than the Raiders now being able to slot someone into the QB position, coach Hugh Jackson has a history with Mr. Palmer as he was the offensive co-ordinator at USC for 2 years during Palmer's college tenure, as well as the wide-receivers coach in Cincinnati for 3 years during which Palmer had his most productive season throwing 32 TD passes in 2005. I'd say the Bengals stole a couple high draft picks out of this trade, management in Cinci basically refused to trade Palmer so as to not reward him for holding out on the team while under contract. They essentially got a 1st and 2nd Round pick for nothing. The only picks the Raiders now have in next years draft aren't until the 5th and 6th round. What are your thoughts? Big risk high reward? Is Al Davis turning in his grave?
