BET Cypher 2011 - Reek Da Villain, 2 Chainz, Busta Rhymes, and Ludacris
When I think of the rap game I think of it in it's artistic form, it's roots and foundation, not the commercialized bubble gum rap so many are accustomed to listening to without even understanding the essence and true spirit of hip hop. This is what makes the BET Cypher one of the more highly anticipated events of the award ceremonies. It brings your back to the days when it was just about free styling and spitting a verse over a simple beat, meaning lyricism was the focus - unlike the majority of rap being played on the radio these days. This cypher features Reek Da Villain, 2 Chainz, Busta Rhymes, and Ludacris. Reek Da Villain and 2 Chainz are new to the game, to be honest I barely know their music and can't pass much judgement on them at this point. Busta and Luda on the other hand - RAP GAME HEAVYWEIGHTS - and have been for years. Busta is from the old school and has a unique flow which he has stayed true to throughout his career since the late 80's. Much of the same can be said about Ludacris, who's approach has never changed and who's lyrical ability is only surpassed by a few. Watch Busta and Luda absolutely demolish the beat below
