J Cole released his debut studio album 'Cole World: The Sideline Story' on Sept.27 and has since been holding down the #1 spot on the hip hop charts until being dethroned this past week. While his commercial success is well deserved, I'd rather post one of his past mixtapes which IMO speaks more on Cole's lyrical ability and gritty style. Hailing from North Carolina, the Fayetteville emcee drops instant classics on his mixtape from 2010 'Friday Night Lights'. If you've never heard this because you live in a hole press play immediately god damnit and recognize the direction of hip hop.
